From paris with Love

Camera Work
Depth of field used to make the focus on the character or object, High angles and low angles, tilt up/ down, extreme close up,close up. The camera movement is very fast at the beginning to keep up with the cars speed.

Mise en scene
Dim lighting in the tunnel is used to create a mysterious atmosphere but then goes into bright light at then end of the tunnel. Desaturation of colour in the tunnel which is a greeny tinge. The setting of this character when he is driving through the gates makes him seem important as there is two men outside guarding it which also makes the audience question why is he going in there? is he important? is this his job? The characters clothes also help to show him as an important character as he is in a suit and dressed smartly. Props and the setting help the audience to understand the character  surroundings if not that apparent at first, for example the eiffel tower to show he is in Paris, which also leads you back to the title of the film.

Sound
parallel which fits the film as it is french music and he is driving through Paris, non diagetic because the radio is made louder than it is but also diagetic as the radio is from the car which means the character can hear it too. Soundbridge used to link places together even if they may be miles apart. fast pace to create suspense

Editing
quick takes, parallel,  some continuity editing on a few shots, transition fade at the beginning when it starts off completly black then the fast movements of the tunnel lights which the subtitles fade into, also when the main title comes up and then fades into the trees.

Shutter Island

Camera Work
varied camera shots to show the characters expression, range of angles used, tilt up/ down, camera angle in some shots at point of view from the character

Mise en scene
the settings bring you back to the title, being an island surrounded by water could suggest no escaping. establishing shots, clothes are formal giving the impression that the character is more important than others as he and two other are the only ones in suits, use of makeup makes him look washed out,
lighting used is dim, but the use of the match being struck suggests the person feeling like there in an enclosed space with the darkness around them, light is only on the charaters face with no background to take the focus away

Sound - both parallel and contrapuntal in different scenes, non diagetic sound, soundbridge,

Editing
long and short takes, match on action, shot reverse shot, transition where the flame goes out then the setting changes, slow and fast pace, straight cuts

The Bourne Identity

Sound - non diagetic sound of the waves crashing is made louder, quick tempo sound to create pace and suspense, Sound bridge used to join two settings together

Camera Work
low angles used to show setting of character from where he has been dragged out of sea and is laying on the table whilst the man is taking the bullets out his back high angle looking down from where he's standing to show the whole setting. Focus pull on the main props, varied shot sizes, alot of close ups for example his hand on the table, and the close up of the man washig the bullet under the tap which is a small but significant prop as it is the reason he cant remember anything.

Mise en scene
settings at the beginning is an establishing shot to create an element of realsim, being on a boat as many poeple have. Clothes for this character is quite plain
costume dark colours and plain suggesting the character needing to fit in and not be noticed, lighting isdark to create an atmosphere and is not overly bright suggesting something synister as there is only one small light in the room which is not that bright either.

Editing
slow pace at the beginning then moves onto a quicker pace when the charcter wakes up and tries to remember what happened but then passes out again. Shot reverse shot, match on action, cross cutting, parallel

Fast and furious 5

Camera work
a mobile camera head used aswell as a arm camera crane, tracking shots from a variety of positions for example in the favelas, different angels which aloow the camera to manuver between high and low in a matter of seconds, range of longshots, closups and mid closeups, birdeye view used.

sound
parellel, non diagetic and diagetic when the car is revving and the crash of the vehical is made louder, as the pace quickens the music quickens to create tension

Mise en scene
the settings help to draw the viewer in and make them believe the plot so they put themselves in the charcters shoes. costume hair and makeup of the charatcers are all low key, they are casually dressed to make them fit in with their surroundings and not stand out as they have FBI agents after them. The film begins in Rio which is an establishig shot and helps to give a good understanding of the setting to the audience.

Editing
fast editing, parallel, quick pace and goes straight into the film, shot reverse shot used, match on action
