Jodie-Clare Harris: Evaluation

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Conventions Of Thriller:

  • The Victim
  • The Threat
  • The Suspense
  • The Enigma
  • The Hero
  • The Villan
The victim in our thriller opening is the character Max. We know this because he gets shot. Since our thriller was an opening we wanted to specify our audience straight away, and keep them interested by using enigma and suspense, as well as a victim for them to sympathise with and maybe even relate too.

The threat or villan in our thriller is the people who are out to get the people with the necklaces. As we do not know who the threat is in person, this helps is to relate to the victim more as they are in the same situation.

Shot Number One:
This is a low angled long shot, that shows the character ''Perry'' but dominates the background shot. This shot allows the viewer to understand the relationship between characters and the environment. This shot created enigma for the audience and immediately raise questions. For example; who is he? where is he? what's his purpose in the film?
